Not at all. IAO Surf Camp welcomes guests of all levels — complete beginners, intermediate surfers, and experienced riders. If you're new to surfing, we offer surf lesson packages for all levels. If you just want to relax and enjoy Siargao's island life, that's perfectly welcome too. The camp is a great base for island hopping, exploring General Luna, and soaking up the Siargao atmosphere.

One of our guest house listings is just five minutes on foot from Cloud 9, one of the world's most famous reef breaks. The rest of our accommodations in General Luna are all accessible to Cloud 9 and other surf spots by short motorbike or tricycle ride. Siargao's surf scene is very centralized around General Luna, so wherever you stay at IAO, you're close to the water.

Yes — kitchen access is one of the defining features of an IAO stay. All of our four Airbnb-listed accommodations include kitchen facilities. Whether you want to cook a proper breakfast before an early session, prep snacks for an island trip, or cook dinner with groceries from the market, the kitchen is yours to use. This is one of the things our guests appreciate most.

Siargao's peak surf season runs from August through November, when the swell is most consistent and the waves at Cloud 9 are at their most powerful. This is also when the Siargao International Surfing Cup takes place, attracting world-class surfers. For beginners and intermediate surfers, the gentler months of April through July still offer great waves at more manageable breaks. March to May is also popular for calmer island conditions and excellent visibility for snorkeling and island hopping.

Our instructors are patient, experienced, and deeply knowledgeable about Siargao's breaks — they know exactly where to take beginners so the conditions are safe and the waves are manageable.
